π£ Important Reminder for Parents/Guardians – VSware Attendance Procedures
Welcome back to the new term! We would like to remind parents/guardians of a few key points regarding student attendance and absence requests on the VSware App. These procedures are in place in line with our Health & Safety and Child Protection policies and procedures, and are essential to ensure the safety and welfare of all students, as well as accurate school records for Tusla.
β
Absence requests should be submitted before 8:45 a.m. on the morning of the absence. This is especially important for early departures, as it allows sufficient time for approval by the Year Head and ensures students can be safely signed out.
π If your daughter is leaving school early, please select “Partial Absence” (not a full day) and enter the correct start and finish times.
-
Start time = when your daughter leaves school
-
Finish time = when they return, or the end of the school day if not returning
Accurate times are vital for student safety and attendance monitoring.
π If you have a query regarding attendance (for example, if your daughter was marked absent for a class they attended), please do not submit an absence request, as this will change the record to “Absent.” Instead, email the school office (info@stwolstans.ie), and we will investigate and resolve the issue.
π Please note that students should not have access to VSware through the parent/guardian account. All absence notes submitted via VSware are assumed to be completed by a parent or guardian, in line with safeguarding procedures.
βοΈ If a journal note must be used for early departure, it must be signed by a parent/guardian and countersigned by the Year Head before the student leaves school. This is a mandatory requirement under Health & Safety and Child Protection procedures.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in helping us keep all students safe. If you have any questions, please contact the school. More information on how to use Vsware can be found here: VSware Help
