🚨 SAFETY ALERT: Protect Students, Staff and Road Users! 🚗🚸
Dear Parents/Guardians of St. Wolstan’s School Community,
We unfortunately cannot ignore the disregard for safety observed outside of the school recently - dangerous habits of double parking and reckless U-turns on the road in front of the two schools on this site. 🏫🚦
The Road Traffic Act of 1997 clearly outlines the rules and regulations that are in place to protect all road users, especially our precious students and dedicated staff members. These laws exist to ensure the safety of everyone on the road and it is everyone’s responsibility to uphold them. Please see below an excerpt from the Road Traffic (Traffic and Parking) Regulations, 1997, which will be enforced.
🅿️ AMPLE PARKING AVAILABLE: Just beyond the roundabout, on the left-hand side, lies the North Kildare Educate Together car park. This parking area is not only convenient but also safe for dropping off and picking up students. Let's make use of it and avoid obstructing the flow of traffic.
👮♂️ COMMUNITY GARDAÍ PARTNERSHIP: We are glad to announce that our local Gardaí will be collaborating closely with our schools to promote safe road usage. Their presence over the coming months will serve as a reminder to all of us to abide by the law and maintain the well-being of our students and staff.
🚸 OUR STUDENTS’ SAFETY IS NON-NEGOTIABLE: It's essential that we prioritise safety over convenience. Double parking and dangerous U-turns puts lives at risk. Please set a responsible example for our community's young minds.
Spread the word, share this message and let's come together to ensure the safety of our schools' vicinity. Together, we can create an environment where everyone can learn, work and travel safely.
