Social Media Campaign

A social media campaign for parents – one of the actions in Kildare CYPSC 3-Year Plan - was launched recently. This is a really positive example of parents supporting parents. The campaign messages were developed by the parents themselves, based on common concerns in relation to childrens’ screentime.

These short videos were developed in Co. Kildare, with a group of parents from St. Farnan’s Post Primary School, Prosperous. The project partners are: County Kildare LEADER Partnership, Foróige Drug Prevention & Education Initiative, Tusla and Kildare CYPSC.

The first in a series of 5 videos designed to support parents and children to positively navigate the online world will be posted on Facebook today on

The remaining 4 videos will be released one per day over the coming week.

The third video from the series of 5 has been released on today: Be Informed

The videos were filmed & edited by the Kildare based media company, Frame It Productions.

Support for quality-assuring the campaign messages and relevant statistical data was provided by Cybersafe Ireland.

This campaign is funded via Tusla Parental Participation Fund and Kildare CYPSC Better Outcomes Brighter Futures Programme funding from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.
