Head Girl and Deputy Head Girls' Address 2023:
St. Wolstan’s Community School is a caring, inclusive and encouraging school community, where every learner is challenged to their full potential, with guidance and support from all the staff.
We, as the Head Girl and Deputy Head Girls are representatives of the student body in the school. We, along with our student leadership teams of Prefects and LIFT Leaders, were elected to promote student voice in the school. Our job is to provide a student’s perspective to the general running of the school, assist with school events and mentor all students but in particular 1st and 2nd Year students. We work with other student leadership groups e.g. the student council and class representatives, to contribute to the shaping of the educational and social experiences students can have here.
In St. Wolstan’s the positive and friendly atmosphere allows students to explore all kinds of curricular and extra-curricular activities. This includes a variety of sporting and non-sporting activities, which run at lunchtime and after school. Students have opportunities to meet new friends, try new skills or simply spend time together. This helps to maintain a sense of belonging.
There are so many events throughout the year, including 1st Year Induction, Advent Service, Transition Year Christmas Market, Music Night, Halloween Dress Up Day and fun fundraising events, to name but a few. Visitors to our school’s social media platforms (Instagram/Facebook/Twitter), as well as the school website, can get a real sense of the wonderful experiences students have here.
We are extremely proud to be part of the school community. It is our privilege to serve as student leaders and continue the tradition of senior students leading the way to help our younger students grow into confident, emotionally intelligent, resilient people, with the skills to pursue any dreams or aspirations they have for the future.
