Principal's Welcome

Welcome to St. Wolstan’s Community School’s website.

It is my privilege as Principal to invite you to our website and hope you will gain an insight into the excellent, broad education on offer in St. Wolstan’s Community School. This website is intended to serve as a means of communication for our existing community; a means of celebrating the achievements of our students and as a means of articulating the vision and values of our school.

The school was founded in 1955 by the Holy Faith Sisters and became a Community School in 1999 under the trusteeship of Le Cheile, KWETB and the Archbishop of Dublin. St. Wolstan’s Community School is a vibrant school with excellent, committed staff and highly motivated students. It is the quality of the relationships within the school that enables excellence in teaching and learning and makes the school a happy place. We are a school with high expectations for our aspiring young students and feel privileged to lead the students through this important chapter in their lives.

Working together with all our partners; the Trustees, the Board of Management, Staff, Parents and the local community, we provide a caring environment based on respect, honesty, kindness and commitment. Student wellbeing is central to our work, and we are dedicated to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while also offering a strong extra-curricular programme. All students are invited, encouraged and facilitated to participate in extra- curricular activities throughout the year. A sense of community is also hugely important and this is encouraged throughout the school through student leadership initiatives and various activities throughout the year. We serve our local community by guiding all learners to reach their full potential in a truly inclusive environment. We also seek to play an active role in the life of our wider community.

As Principal, my wish for every student is that they would enjoy the best educational experience at second level in our school. I hope that, with the aid of my Senior Management Team of Ms. Smyth and Ms. Brady and all our committed staff, we can provide this experience while continuing to achieve the highest educational outcome for all at St. Wolstan’s Community School. I would like to extend a particular welcome to those visitors seeking to find the correct school for their children. I hope that the information you find here is helpful.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you enjoy it.
